The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of moving around.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have actually pushed up the rate of oil, the issue of finding alternative sources of fuel has come into .

In a region that has among the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one business is benefiting from the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
